Private Continuity Architecture

When you are
no longer there.

Alcora is designed for complex families where structures span jurisdictions, advisors hold different pieces, and critical understanding often sits with a small number of individuals.

It creates a single, structured reference layer — ensuring the right people can act, with clarity, at the right time.

The Problem

Families do not lose continuity
because documents disappear.

They fail when intent, context, and authority were never made explicit — and the person who held it all in their head is no longer there to explain it. After death or incapacity, it is too late to reconstruct intent. Advisors can recover documents. No one can recover understanding.

The Moment of Crisis

Sudden death, stroke, or cognitive decline — the people left are not in an analytical state. They are often faced with fear, confusion and grief. Password managers are unusable. Vaults add friction. Advisors are known, unavailable, or operating in parallel silos.

The Invisible Gap

Despite sophisticated planning and extensive professional advice, a critical layer remains absent. There is no family-owned system of record for meaning, intent and structure — one that survives advisor turnover, illness, and time without creating new risk.

The Scale of Transition

Over USD 90 trillion in private wealth is transitioning across increasingly complex family systems. Longer lives, later incapacity, globally dispersed families, and rotating advisors mean the informal system of oral transmission has finally broken.

Prevention, Not Recovery

Alcora only works if it exists before the triggering event. It is preventative infrastructure, not a recovery tool. This timing asymmetry is central to both its value and its durability. It must be built in calm — to be relied upon in crisis.

What Alcora Is

A reference layer.
Not a repository.

Alcora is not a secure document vault, a password manager, or a custodian of originals. It is a structured family knowledge system — a permission-based private record that preserves understanding, authority, and intent across time, and ensures the right people can act with clarity when it matters most.

"Vaults store things.
Alcora stores understanding."
  • Trigger-Based Authority Map

Who holds authority in each scenario - death, incapacity, relocation, divorce - and where that authority begins and ends. In plain language.

  • Plain-Language Structure Map

How trusts, companies, and entities fit together — and why they exist — without requiring interpretation of legal instruments.

  • Role-Based Access Architecture

Spouse, children, trustee, executor, and advisors each see only what they need to understand, and nothing that creates unnecessary risk or burden.

  • Document Location Index

Where sensitive documents are held - not the documents themselves. "Where to find it" without Alcora becoming a vault or credential store.

  • Failure Safety by Design

If Alcora were to cease operating, families retain full control. Its absence removes convenience, not control. This asymmetry is deliberate.

What Alcora is — and is not

Alcora Is
  • A structured family knowledge system
  • A reference-level map of intent, authority, and structure
  • A continuity layer that survives people, time, and jurisdictions
  • Advisor-adjacent — making professional spend coherent
  • Designed for the worst day, not the best day
Alcora Is Not
  • A secure document vault or credential store
  • A password manager
  • A legal, tax, or investment adviser
  • A transaction or execution platform
  • A replacement for banks, trustees, or institutions
Two Phases by Design

Nothing is automated
before it is understood.

Alcora is intentionally built in two phases. The first is offline and human. The second, if and when a family chooses, applies access rules to that understanding through a platform.

Phase One — Always

Offline & Human

A guided continuity-mapping process. No sensitive documents are uploaded. No credentials are shared. No execution authority is granted. The focus is establishing clear, reference-level understanding of what already exists — without creating new risk.

Deliverable
The Family Continuity Record
Phase Two — Optional

Platform & Access Rules

If and when a family chooses, the understanding built in Phase One is made accessible through a permissioned platform with role-based lenses, trigger-activated access, and an annual Continuity Review to keep everything current.

Deliverable
The Private Digital Operating System
Day One

Alcora begins
with orientation.

By the end of Day One, critical context no longer depends on memory. Understanding is no longer concentrated in a single individual. Family members know where to look.

  • Identify key structures — trusts, companies, entities
  • Clarify the purpose behind each structure in plain language
  • Record intent that would otherwise live only in someone's head
  • Define who matters in each scenario — and who does not
  • Confirm what is urgent versus what can wait
  • Establish where authoritative documents are held — by reference only
The System

Twelve modules.
One coherent understanding.

Each module captures meaning, structure, and reference-level knowledge — not sensitive credentials or raw execution data. Together, they form a complete system of family understanding that endures across generations and advisor transitions.

Family Values & Legacy

Preserves what matters beyond money — values, intent, and guiding principles so future generations inherit not just assets, but context.

Governance & Control

Clarifies how decisions are meant to be made — covering authority, escalation paths, and succession logic. Reduces conflict and prevents misinterpretation under pressure.

Trusts, Companies & Continuity

Makes complex structures legible in plain language — how they fit together and why they exist — without requiring interpretation of governing documents.

Financial Inventory

A high-level map of assets and obligations — structured, not raw. No account numbers, balances, or transaction history. What exists and how assets relate to structures.

Relationships & Advisors

Preserves continuity of professional relationships beyond individual tenure — who is involved, in what capacity, and why — so understanding survives advisor changes.

Risk, Protection & Insurance

Explains how protection is intended to function across scenarios — without requiring policy administration or exposing coverage mechanics.

Life Events & Triggers

What changes matter and what they activate — death, incapacity, marriage, divorce, relocation. Who must be informed. What is time-critical versus deferrable.

Decision History & Rationale

Why significant decisions were made, preserving intent beyond memory. Context, alternatives, and trade-offs acknowledged. Prevents future misinterpretation.

Emergency & Incapacity Orientation

Designed for crisis moments — immediate priorities, who to contact, what is urgent versus deferrable. Calm orientation at the worst moment.

Practical Life Continuity

Reduces friction and emotional load around everyday continuity. Practical knowledge that is often only informally held, captured before it is needed.

Final Wishes & Messages

Personal intent, reassurance, and guidance beyond presence — non-binding expressions that reduce uncertainty, guilt, and conflict at moments of death or incapacity.

Secure Documentation Confirmation

A structured checklist confirming what sensitive documents exist and where they are stored. No uploads, no numbers, no credentials — existence and location only.

Who It Serves

Families whose complexity
exceeds any single advisor.

Alcora is not for families seeking performance reporting or tax optimisation. It serves families whose structures, jurisdictions, and advisory relationships exceed the comprehension of any single individual.

Founders & Principals, 50–75

Cross-border residency, relocation risk, or a desire to reduce burden on family during illness or death. Often the person who carries everything in their head.

Families with Complex Structures

Multi-jurisdictional trusts, holding companies, operating businesses alongside investment holdings, and multiple advisors — legal, tax, fiduciary, insurance — operating in parallel.

Spouses & Next Generation

Partners with limited involvement in structures, or adult children living globally. Families seeking to reduce dependency on memory without concentrating risk in any one person.

Advisors Serving Complex Families

Private client lawyers, independent trustees, and multi-family office operators whose clients need a neutral continuity layer that survives professional transitions.

Advisors know their piece. No one holds the whole.
Most families with complex structures are well advised — and still fragile. Alcora exists for the gap between sophisticated planning and coherent understanding.
Documents survive. Intent rarely does.
Wills, trust deeds, and letters of wishes remain — but the context behind them disappears. Alcora preserves the reasoning, not just the record.
It only works before the event. Not after.
After death, incapacity, or cognitive decline, it is too late to reconstruct intent. Alcora is preventative infrastructure — designed for the worst day, built on the best one.
Design Principles

Built on five
non-negotiable constraints.

Principle I

No Custody

Alcora never holds original documents, credentials, or sensitive data. Its absence removes convenience, not control. Families always retain full authority over their structures and institutions.

Principle II

Understanding Before Automation

Nothing is automated before it is understood. The first phase is always offline and human. Technology serves understanding — not the reverse.

Principle III

Role-Based Clarity

Each person sees only what they need to understand. Too much information under stress creates paralysis. Partial understanding creates conflict. Alcora resolves both.

Principle IV

Designed for the Worst Day

Most platforms assume calm users, full attention, and emotional neutrality. Alcora assumes the opposite — built to function when the state is fear, guilt, and confusion.

Principle V

Advisor-Adjacent

Alcora does not displace professional spend. It makes it coherent. By working alongside existing lawyers, trustees, and banks, it ensures structures remain legible — not redundant.

The Insight

"Families do not need another dashboard. They need a neutral reference layer — owned by the family — that reveals how everything connects."

Our Founding
A letter on why
Alcora exists
Alcora was not conceived as a venture idea. It was conceived as a structural necessity — by someone who has lived inside the complexity it is designed to resolve.

I have lived inside complex, multi-jurisdictional family systems that include trusts, companies, advisors, policies, and boards. On paper, everything was "in place." In reality, continuity depended on people.

I have seen critical knowledge held only in someone's head. I have seen advisors who understood their piece, but not the whole. I have seen families immobilised after sudden death, illness, or cognitive decline. I have seen structures that technically survived while understanding collapsed.

Documents were rarely absent. What was absent was context, intent, and shared understanding. There was no neutral place where a family's system could be seen clearly — without creating new risk.

That gap is what Alcora exists to fill — not with more documents, but with durable understanding.

Families do not lose continuity because information disappears. They lose it because intent, authority, and context were never made explicit — often during the very moments when they matter most: bereavement, cognitive decline, and advisor transition.

Alcora preserves understanding, not just access, so that decisions made under pressure still reflect the family's values, priorities, and boundaries — long after those who created the system are no longer there to explain it.

If someone disappears tomorrow, their family does not panic.

They open Alcora.
